After the Battle

On the arching hills of blazing ashes,

In the crackling flames of remnants of battle,

In the bittersweet wisps of curling smoke,

In consuming carnage echoing courage,

In varnished beauty encased in sword,

Of heartbreak sounded in celestial showers,

Of pilfering hearts now screaming, lashing uneven, catering to the patterns of dancing, curling smoke speaking of unspoken love song –

Stillness and cessation, coldest heartbeat settled, where man once lie, washed away of song.

As arches settle and ashes scatter,

As peace abounds in the stillness of hearts,

As stillness of hearts becomes mountains new glory,

As crackling ashes roll into the earth,

As echoes from deep reverberate stardust,

Whisps of heartache emerge to seed.
